2018 dates for all classes now posted. Space is limited. All programs are first come, first serve.

Baby Bubblers (6 months-2 years)

Parents and children learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control. This course is fun-filled and helps introduce water safety concepts, encouraging a healthy recreational habit that your entire family can enjoy. Classes offered twice a week. You are welcome to come to as many classes as you would like. There must be at least two babies enrolled in the class. There is a maximum of 10 babies per class. Payment is taken day of class.

Tuesday + Thursday / 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Ages: 6 months-2 years / $8 per child per class

Water Exploration Class (2-4 years)

This class teaches the beginning stages of swimming including blowing bubbles, leg kicks, submerged face, arm actions and water safety. Class is taught in water depth of 3’6″.

Monday-Thursday / 8-8:45 a.m. (eight classes)
Ages: 2-4 / $60 per person per session

Swim Lessons (all ages)

This class teaches more advanced stages of swimming such as leg kicks, arm strokes, swimming under water, front crawl, back crawl, diving, streamline swimming techniques and water safety. Class is taught in water depth of 3’6″ or 8″ depending on skill level.

Aqua Zumba/Water Aerobics

Water exercises are known to help decreases joint pain and stiffness. Participants can take advantage of the gentle resistance and buoyancy that ease movement. This class integrates Zumba formula with traditional aqua fitness disciplines. Aqua Zumba is a safe, challenging, water-based workout that combines cardio-conditioning, body-toning and fun. Class is taught in water depth of 3’6″

Paddle Up 1

Learn to paddle a sea kayak while enjoying exciting Liberty Lagoon. This program will teach entry-level participants. Safety equipment and kayaks are provided on site as part of the program registration fee. Upon completion of the Paddle Up 1 class, participants can move onto the more advanced classes BREC offers. BREC asks that all participants preregister for the classes at Liberty Lagoon Guest Services. Classes are limited to 10 participants. Payment is taken day of class.

Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga

Join us at beautiful Liberty Lagoon for “Yoga” on the water as the instructor will guide you through a flow of poses and movements designed to increase your core strength and flexibility. This is a great way to start off your weekend and relaxing.

Shockwave Surfing Lessons

Shockwave: Advanced Rider Surfing

Liberty Lagoon will be offering advanced riders exclusive access to the Shockwave this summer. An advanced rider is one that uses the Flow board (stand-up board) to surf as well as the body board. Tuesday and Thursday evenings, advanced riders will have access to the Shockwave. This timeframe will be for advanced riders ONLY and will be offered at normal admissions pricing. Shockwave: Advanced Stand-up Surfing

Participants must be experienced in riding a Flow board and must attend body boarding and novice nights prior. Skill level must be approved by staff. Minors must have a waiver signed by guardian to participate.

Shockwave: Body Boarding

Participants surf the Shockwave using a body board. This can be done laying down or kneeling on the board. Participants will learn the basics to riding the Shockwave on the body board before advancing to riding a stand-up board. Minors must have a waiver signed by guardian to participate.

Shockwave: Novice/Instructional Stand-up Surfing

Participants surf the Shockwave standing up on a board known as a “Flow board”. This night is for participants with little or no stand-up board experience. For those with no experience, instruction will be given on how to properly ride a Flow board. It is suggested that a rider first attend a body board night prior to riding a Flow board.
